Ever since seeing Jurassic Park’s triceratops on a childhood trip to America, I was hooked on the magic of storytelling. That passion led me to study Media Production at Cumbria College of Art & Design—where I directed my first WW1 short film at 16—and later earn my degree at the Cumbria Institute of Arts.

While I spent time presenting bulletins on CFM Radio and freelancing as a director, camera operator, and editor across corporate gigs, online content, and worked as an AD on features including Frozen and Miss Potter, my heart stayed with narrative filmmaking.

My husband Jonny and I bonded with Ronnie Papaleo over our shared passion for bringing history to life. Together, we collaborated on heritage projects including Footprints of our Fathers, with Jonny as DP and Ronnie providing props, costumes, and even building a trench line in his garden.

In 2021, we joined Where Poppies Grow to co-ordinate pre-production and filming for Pendragon. Despite being a passion project fuelled by volunteers—creating everything from miniature tanks to large elaborate sets—it brought together an incredible creative family and launched the professional careers of several volunteers into the Film and TV industry.
